Do you carry the religious baggage of believing that God is angry or disappointed with you? Many of us labor under the belief that our worth is rooted in what we do or don’t do. How ironic this is, considering how clearly Jesus demonstrated our infinite worth to God notwithstanding any performance or lack of it on our parts.
It’s a struggle to grow beyond our broken perceptions of God, especially this one. Naturally, you want to give a more balanced view of God to your children.
But how does one give a more balanced view of God to one’s children?
At NRCC, we started with a simple question; if we could teach our children only one thing about God, what would it be?
We decided that more than anything else, we wanted our kids to know that God loves them. Sure, this includes songs, and lessons, and Bible stories, but it also means that we respond to them as unique individuals, affirming them, and meeting them where they are.
We don’t have the budget or the inclination for a very flashy ministry to our young people. Our kids get their daily recommended allowance of flash just about everywhere else in our society. What we offer instead are child-gifted, safe, and mature adults who love, teach, and talk with our children, and who take the time to affirm God’s love to them.
If this sounds like the kind of environment you desire for your kids, please consider NRCC.
